Every so often a group of us put our brains together and come up with these fun, different shoot ideas and a few times a year we get to live them out! Here’s one of them. Meet Bailey, our model. Styling was done by my assistant, Lindsay Decker, and I and I even did make-up this time around. Hair was done by my awesome sister, Mya.

My good friends over at www.makeupgeek.com asked for my assistance in a few of their make-up tutorial looks resembling different Eras. We had a Twiggy inspired Mod Era, a Flapper Inspired Era and the beloved 80′s Era. Wardrobe was donated from a local shop and both hair & make-up was done by Taryn Scalise.

punk rock bridal session

Every once in a while we’ll organize a high fashion bridal session to inspire brides and grooms and show them how individuality and COLOR make such a huge impact on a session. Details are important.. and that includes the hair pieces, the shoes, the jewelry, everything! Location is secondary. To all you brides out there, I can’t stress this enough – hire a make-up artist! Our talented lady for this session was Taryn Scalise, who did Nina + Mike’s make-up for this particular session. I highly recommend her! Wan’t her contact info? Just ask

Fashion in Detroit meets ToughLove.

If you follow my blog or work, I know you’ve heard the name Taryn Scalise or ToughLove before. Taryn was put on a mission – to take a few Fashion in Detroit t-shirts (www.fashionindetroit.com) and reconstruct them into something fabulous. Well, as usual, she went above and beyond. Meet our lovely models: Heather, Marley and Heather. Thats right, two Heathers in one day.

I’m sure most of you have heard of Taryn.. she is a great friend of mine and attends many of my photoshoots. It’s pretty likely you have even met her. She is a make-up artist and my go-to girl for inspiration. I highly suggest that if you are a bride-to-be or just looking for a make-up artist for a shoot or other type of event, do yourself a favor and check her out. She is the owner of ToughLove and not only does she make faces pretty but she is also a clothing designer! Jack of all trades.

I know how hard these times are and how people are loosing the jobs left and right – how the extra money just isnt there. Photographs are a luxury and I wanted to make this luxury more affordable so you are able to invest in the memories. I have decided to add a new, more affordable session to my list of services. Most of you have already heard of them…

Mini Sessions!
A mini session lasts for only 30 minutes; short and sweet. It includes one location (on location or in studio) and one outfit (no clothing changes). This is perfect for any type of session, whether it be modeling headshots, maternity, infant or toddler or even a couples session. You will recieve an online proofing gallery that will be up for 30 days that will display anywhere from 10-25 retouched photographs. This mini session requires a minimum print order of $100. Our digital negatives are available for a discounted price of $150 (50% off!). A $50 deposit is required to reserve your date.

For all seven of you that took advantage of the mini session day on November 15th – you are saving $100 even from these prices! This was my way of introducing the new service and offering some great clients a peek into my new studio!

jessica + jenna : michigan senior portrait photographer

This gorgeous set of twins graduates in 2010 and contracted me for their senior portraits. Ok.. I was totally expecting a traditional senior session but this was anything but! Half way into the session I must have forgot they were seniors because ALL of these shots are oozing fashion! They’re not models.. but don’t you think they should be? Wow! Did I mention they’re figure skaters?

The fashion show turn out was awesome. After six hard months of planning and creating Taryn and I finally pulled it off! Dispite it being a small venue, all chairs were full. The Modern Exchange did a fabulous job accomidating our show, which took place on June 27th in Southgate.
