Every once in a while we’ll organize a high fashion bridal session to inspire brides and grooms and show them how individuality and COLOR make such a huge impact on a session. Details are important.. and that includes the hair pieces, the shoes, the jewelry, everything! Location is secondary. To all you brides out there, I can’t stress this enough – hire a make-up artist! Our talented lady for this session was Taryn Scalise, who did Nina + Mike’s make-up for this particular session. I highly recommend her! Wan’t her contact info? Just ask
If you want to see more from this session, I posted all the images up on an un-locked proofing gallery: www.jenkniivila.smugmug.com
This session took place in downtown Flint during Back to the Bricks. Our lovely models are Nina & Michael. I use the term models, but they’re really just some close friends of ours that took us up on the offer! ALL brides and grooms can look this fabulous. Let us show you..

I know you all know this face – I photograph it every 3 months! Look how big little miss Myla has grown.. and LOOK! She really likes the camera now!

Brendan is my husbands step brother and Stacy is his lovely fiance. They’re getting married in a few short months on September 11th! Here’s a couple of my favorites from their engagement session in Ann Arbor.

Meet Bailey. A beautiful, talented senior from good ole Fenton High School.

I enjoyed every moment of this wedding. My fondness started with the ceremony. This ceremony had it all, laughter.. tears.. a man and an acoustic.. and proud parents with such emotion in their eyes. I teared up on many occasions and I must say, this pastor did a FANTASTIC job at keeping the ceremony fun. After the ceremony the couple drove off in a Duesenberg. Yes, a vehicle worth more than my home (a few times over). Everything was beautiful – each and every detail. I am honored to have been so lucky to be a spectator on this amazing day.
With that being said, congratulations Alyssa & Josh! I wish you two a life full of happiness.

Nothing more than a stylish toddler enjoying some sunshine!

This is the 3rd time I’ve photographed the Suarez family and I love how I’ve been able to watch little Eli grow over the last year and a half. Now because Katie and I are high school friends, I brought my daughter Brooklyn along for the shoot so her and Eli could have some fun! And boy did they ever! See for yourself..

HAHA! See?!

I have been photographing Myla since she was in her mothers tummy! It’s hard to believe she’s already 18 months old. Oh, how time flies!

I have been awaiting this wedding all year! Not only because the bride is a friend, but because I was so unbelieveably excited to photograph at the Waterfall House! This is a private residence and the ceremony and reception were held on the premises under a beautiful blue sky. Dispite it being a little muggy, the day was perfect. That day was June 26th.
When making their rounds, the bride and groom ended up at our table and said some pretty amazing things. Donnie, the groom, shared his favorite moment of the day so far – watching his beautiful bride walk down the isle for him. He was so open and truthfull and it was then when I realized how much he adores Abby. Head-over-heels love is something I will never get sick of witnessing!
So congratulations to the lovely couple! Enjoy your honeymoon!
